Who Needs a Florida Fishing License?

Anyone 16 years of age or older who fishes or even attempts to catch freshwater fish in Florida typically needs a valid Florida freshwater fishing license. This applies whether you're keeping fish or practicing catch and release. Both Florida residents and non-residents must purchase the appropriate license unless they qualify for one of Florida's exemptions.

Freshwater vs. Florida Saltwater License

Stong Outdoors operates exclusively on freshwater lakes, including Lake Toho, the Harris Chain, Headwaters Lake, and the St. Johns River. That means you'll need a Florida freshwater fishing license for your guided bass fishing trip.

A Florida saltwater license is only required when fishing in saltwater for marine species such as snapper, redfish, snook, or tarpon. Saltwater licenses are not valid for freshwater bass fishing.

Who Is Exempt?
